SurveySally ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use our survey platform at surveysally.com and related subdomains.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create a tenant account, we collect your name, email address, and organisation name via Google or Microsoft single sign-on (SSO). We do not store passwords.

Survey Response Data

When respondents complete surveys, we collect their answers, browser fingerprint data (for duplicate prevention when enabled), and optional user identifiers (UID) if provided by the survey creator.

Usage Data

We automatically collect technical information including browser type, device type, IP address, and pages visited to improve our service and diagnose issues.

3. How We Use Information

• To provide, maintain, and improve the SurveySally platform
• To process and display survey responses to tenant administrators
• To send transactional emails (account verification, survey notifications)
• To prevent fraud and duplicate responses
• To generate aggregated analytics and insights

4. Data Storage and Security

All data is stored in Microsoft Azure data centres. We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) and encryption at rest. Our database uses Azure SQL Server with automatic encryption.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties except:

• With your tenant organisation (for survey responses they created)
• With cloud service providers (Microsoft Azure) for hosting
• When required by law or legal process

6. Multi-Tenancy

SurveySally operates a multi-tenant architecture. Each tenant's data is logically isolated — tenants can only access their own survey data. We enforce tenant isolation at the API level on every request.

7. Data Retention

Survey response data is retained for the lifetime of the tenant account. Tenants may delete individual surveys and their responses at any time. When a tenant account is closed, all associated data is permanently deleted within 30 days.

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies for session management and duplicate response prevention. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

9. Your Rights

Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and applicable data protection laws, you have the right to:

• Access your personal information
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to processing of your data
• Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator
